THE BENTLEY HISTORICAL LIBRARY’S BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE STRATEGY: PUBLIC SERVICE, AEON AND BEYOND
MALGOSIA MYC, CINDA NOFZIGER, AND MATT ADAIR
Malgosia Myc will introduce the BI committee’s formative phase followed by a six month pilot study, which started in January 2017. This presentation will include 1) a set of recommended data to be systematically collected, harvested and reported for further analysis 2) the tools and sources we use 3) a platform to store and share the reports and data analysis, and 4) our intention to expand BI strategy and its scope beyond its first focus.
Cinda Nofziger’s presentation narrows the focus to meaningful metrics on course instruction. The Bentley Library’s relatively new instructional program draws on Aeon data, and other data to meet the SAA-ACRL/RBMS instruction metrics, but also goes beyond them. These data are used to help manage the program, to justify resource allocation and to help assess student engagement with the archives. The data contribute to both long and short term aspirations for the program.
Matt Adair’s presentation will discuss some of the challenges the Bentley encountered in order report the data out in meaningful ways. We had to “think outside the box” in order to make it possible to track and collect data both in and out of Aeon. What we did to overcome these challenges, and where we would like to go in the future, will be covered.
